A Comparison Of Nonpetroleum And Petroleum Logging
There are a number of significant differences between non-petroleum and petroleum logging. Mineral logging is generating enough income to begin to support its own R and D effort. As a result new tools and techniques designed specifically for mineral work are beginning to appear. Differences between non-petroleum and petroleum logging appear in the type of depositional environment, borehole usage, tool design and interpretational technique. While the two areas have much to offer each other, they are not the same. Probably the greatest non-petroleum need at this time is an education effort.
