What is LAS log analysis?

This is a Windows (95 and greater) or NT based log analysis program that uses the Canadian Well Logging Society LAS (log ascii standard) files for data input. The user is prompted for the required parameters. Analysis is accomplished using simultaneous equations to a maximum of 8 input values (logs), solving for 9 unknowns. The results are displayed in spreadsheets containing graphics and numerical data (input and calculated values). This is a single well/single zone stand-alone program. The output spreadsheet (name.xls) and output file (name.las) can be used in conjunction with other programs. The output parameters from the cut-off/summary are mappable. Included with the download is a Demo.las that can be used to test the program. Also a text file named DemoCore.txt is included to test the core/log functionality with a text file as input. Core data can also be input via name.las files.

Future enhancements

If you have suggestions, which you are willing to give and they have broad applicability and can be incorporated in the programs, I will attempt to include them in future releases.

Why are they free?

I wrote the programs for my personal use and reasons. Now I feel others should take advantage of their value. The programs were written with, a short learning curve and ease of use being among the primary objectives. Optionally, in-depth instruction is available for a fee, which is another reason for the programs being available free of charge.
